This module draws on the foundational sacred texts of Christianity, while simultaneously investigating the development of Christian concepts over the course of history. In this module, we compare and relate all of scripture to create a systematised view on what the whole Bible says about God, Covenant, and Creation.
The purpose of this module is therefore to provide first-year students in the Bachelor of Theology Degree programme with basic knowledge and understanding regarding:
The Being and Existence of God.
God as Holy Trinity.

Welcome to Module TLH 135: The Cosmos, God and Humanity
Students either select the Psychology component or the Community Development component of this module as elective.
This module gives an overview of the relationship between cosmology, community theology and the human psyche. It addresses how the different fields of theology, psychology, community development and the sciences relate to each other. Throughout this module, exploration will be done on key issues recently and less recently explored in the different mentioned fields. The aim is to foster a basic understanding of key themes in theology, cosmology, community development, psychology and research.
Furthermore, in order to practice Christian counselling, professional counsellors must be able to articulate a Christian worldview and understand the way in which their worldview informs counselling theory and practice. This gives rise to the need to integrate Psychology and Theology or Community Development and Theology in this module in order to provide students with a theoretical overview and practical foundation for faith-based counselling.
The research section of this module aims to introduce the student to the academic requirements for scholarly writings required at Higher Education Institutional level.
